Ed, Inc. has reorganized our Advisory Committee in an effort to bring a diverse spectrum of knowledge, expertise and energy to guide us toward
achieving our goals.
Representation on the committee comes from major Fortune 500 corporations, small and mid-size businesses and educational institutions. The committee helps us by:
- Creating linkages to companies that can supplement and/or
complement our efforts;
- Providing information on technology and general workplace skills
needed by employees;
- Offering feedback about our curriculum to assure it meets industry
needs and the special needs of our target constituents;
- Being active participants in the on the job training by allowing
our program participants to work on special projects within their companies
as appropriate;
- Actively posting job openings with Urban Ed and being aggressive
in identifying placement opportunities for our participants; and
- Bringing their knowledge and commitment to our efforts.
Current Advisory Committee members include

- Court Services and Offender Supervision Agency
- DC Chamber of Commerce
- InfoTech Strategies
- John Hancock Financial Services
- Tech Opps, Inc.
We are in the process of identifying strong leadership for our committee, seeking 9 new members. If you are interested in helping us develop youth of color for technology careers, develop srategies for helping corporations solve personnel issues through Urban Ed's work or be a part of an innovative social and economic initiative, then we invite you to be a part of our Advisory Committee.
